Ron Ancrum appointed as the third president of the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts
The Trustees of the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts unanimously elected Ron Ancrum to the post of president on April 6, 2009. Mr. Ancrum will begin his tenure as the third president of the Community Foundation on July 15.
Mr. Ancrum has served for the past eight years as President of Associated Grant Makers, a membership association for foundation and corporate giving programs serving Massachusetts and New Hampshire. He earned his undergraduate degree in music theory from the University of Connecticut and his masters in Public Affairs from the University of Massachusetts’ McCormack Institute. Mr. Ancrum worked for nineteen years in higher education, mainly in the field of admissions counseling, at Connecticut College, Colgate University and the University of Massachusetts, Boston. He also spent eleven years as a Boston-based consultant, working with educational institutions on issues related to enrollment management, strategic planning, cultural diversity, and group facilitation. He has served as interim President of Roxbury Community College, taught at Boston University’s Institute for Nonprofit Management and Leadership, and served as a trustee for The Park School in Brookline and the National Center for Black Philanthropy in Washington, D.C. He currently serves as trustee for The Boston Conservatory and the Boston Foundation for Architecture. He is appointed by Governor Deval Patrick a Commissioner of Commonwealth Corps.
Mr. Ancrum comes to western Massachusetts with an enormous array of experiences in the nonprofit sector and a great enthusiasm for charitable work. Elizabeth D.
